TRY, LEARN & IMPROVE

TO DO LIST - 13 / 14

1) . I would like to develop and improve my research and progression during the first stages of a project. by this i mean being more thorough with ideas and encouraging as many of them as possible before deciding on the most appropriate.

2) . During level 4 of this degree course I did not really have much chance to use of my hand rendering and sketch skills which is something that I enjoy to do. I would like to try and apply this aesthetic more were appropriate and maybe develop new skills and new methods along the way. 

3) . When receiving a new brief, I need to make sure I get started straight away by getting ideas on paper as well as my thought processes in research. This will help me by making more progress earlier on giving me a more justified response to the brief, more time on the actual finished product and a more balanced way of working rather than trying to cram in too much nearer the end.

4) . I would like to improve my organisation skills a lot more to help me balance multiple briefs at a time. Designating my time carefully through out a week will help me to remain consistent through each brief rather than becoming unbalanced with work that is nearly complete and other there are seriously lagging behind. This is something that occurred with me last year an I really do not want it to happen again.

5) . In year 4 I really enjoyed the process of foiling but only really got to grips with it at the end of the course. I would very much like to revisit this process and experiment with its possibilities were appropriate for a brief. I really like the finish and aesthetic this type of print achieves.

6) . Now I am more aware of the materials that are available to me as well as which materials are more appropriate for certain processes and production, I would like to improve the finishing of my final pieces and strive to make more professionally worked and completed outcomes.

7) . I want to improve my skills across the board on the Adobe design suit software. I feel I have a good understanding now, but I really want to be able to work in comfort of my knowledge. This would improve on the time it would take me to complete work as well as helping to achieve work that is to a high standard.

8) . I would like to look more in to the Product and Packaging side of Graphic Design because I feel that this is a subject I would really enjoy and is something I have not quite had the chance to work with and develop.

9) . Concerning the Essay writing side of the course, I am now more aware of the help that is available to me if i am struggling. Last year I put off my work on my essay because of this and needless to say the stress close to the deadline was not pleasant. In the future I would like to put into practice the skills I learnt last year when essay rewriting more and of course get it completed as early as I can.

10) . I feel that my research skills improved a lot throughout the 4th year and this is something I would like to continue to improve. By ensuring I research into every possible aspect of a subject as well as making sure what I am researching is relevant, this will help me to come up with multiple response ideas as well as helping me to create a more justified response. Having good, strong research will also help me to move along through my brief with more fluidity until i reach the end point aiding with time management.
